Every day we wake up,roll out of bed, check our phones to stay connected to the social world. We shower, grab a bite and run off to our jobs. We come back from our jobs, shower, grab a bite, catch a show or two on TV while staying connected to the social world, then we go to sleep. This becomes a cycle everyday. We become robots following a routine, while our relationship with God suffers. We forget God, well maybe its a stretch to say we forget Him but we keep God in storage. We keep Him in our metaphorical boxes for later use.We push Him to the sidelines till we run out of options or when we are greeted with problems, and solutions become a stranger to us. We become lost in the fast paced life that we are now enslaved to, which debars us from appreciating God's presence and blessings. Giving thanks to God for giving us the breath of life, good health, and ability to make wealth becomes a foreign language our minds and mouths find difficult to comprehend. Thus, forgetting that we are only able to do these things as a result of His grace and love. We become oblivious of His provisions, goodness and mercies. We fail to realize that we are something because He is everything and that we exist because He is existence. The most important relationship we must form is with God, for He is our foundation and core of our being. A car cannot run with no engine nor can a house not stand on solid ground. God is our engine. He is our solid ground. We cannot run or move without Him. We can only stand on Him in this world that is polluted with sad and violent news, mistreatment, segregation, hate and greed. God is the one we can run to find solace, courage and boldness to face the world. As much as the relationships we form between ourselves is important, our relationship with God is the most essential. A relationship with God keeps you sane amidst the craziness in the world. It keeps you sailing when others around you seem to drown in seas of life struggles. So, run to God and not from Him for He loves you more than you could ever fathom. But who is God? Here's the best explanation of who God is to us according to comedian Micheal Jr: God is like a navigation device in your car. It tells you how to get to an address or location you enter. Let's say the direction says go four kilometres and make a right but then you go four kilometres and make a left. God does not abandon you to get lost but He re-calculates and sets you on the right path and even if you make more mistakes along the way while wasting time, He remains patient and still re-calculates till you get to your right destination. All because He's got your back. You can count on Him when all hope is lost. Yes, you sure can count on Him, when all friends and your family gives up on you. He could never give up on you because He's got your back.
Side note (Story behind this month's blog):
The month of November has been an emotional one for me because 9 years ago in November was when my relationship with my older sister became stronger and also was the same month, she became very ill. In this same month, she instilled in me words of advice and made me promise to always stay focused and make a difference in life. She made me appreciate God more and understand that He's always got my back. Although, my sister passed away in December of that same year, I still hold on to those words of wisdom she instilled in me and I cherish those talks we had. I will forever miss you my beloved sister. Adieu Irene. Rest in peace, sister.

That was truly beautiful and inspirational. It was a blessing to read this morning. The message seems so familiar as it mirrors and resonates a lot of our actions as we pass through life. We need to draw God closer and heed His word. And ensure His ways are reflected in our lives. Thank you Kenn for this amazing message
